A History of Magic Part I: The Acquisition

As a personal update, I am excited to announce in November I will be traveling to New York City to visit the New York Historical Society. They are hosting A HISTORY OF MAGIC, a special exhibition on the lore and culture that inspired J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series and her greater Wizarding World. Some artifacts I am particularly exited to see include the headstone of Nicolas Flamel, original sketches of the heavens by Leonardo da Vinci, and a scroll detailing the recipe of how to create a philosopher’s stone.

I think this adventure into what inspired Jo will reward years of devotion and love to this story and stoke further interest in this world and characters. I always find myself as–if not more–interested in what inspired the author to write than the story itself. I hope to report back with much insight into what went on with Jo’s developing stages and gather useful tips of where to look for my own stories to come.
